Katitima School, Malawi

Also, at Salehurst we have strong links with Katitima School, Malawi, Africa through the Christian charity Starfish Malawi. Several of our staff have visited Katitima to teach at the school and strengthen our partnership through joint curriculum projects and shared activities. The children learn about life in each other’s countries, write letters and exchange gifts with their pen pals and explore global issues such as justice, fairness and conservation. We have also been visited by staff from Katitima, offering our children opportunities to learn about Malawi life and culture through art, storytelling, dance and drama. Fund-raising events at Salehurst are often organised to help support the pupils at Katitima and we have recently completed the first phase of building a new classroom block there.
