In line with County policy, children begin their formal education in the academic year in which they become five. Reception age children are admitted full-time, but more flexible arrangements can be made according to individual circumstances.
To help ensure a smooth transition to school we:
• Invite children to at least three school sessions prior to starting
• Visit children in their pre-school setting (local playgroup)
• Carry out home visits, with parental permission
We have Open Mornings in November and January for prospective parents (contact us for details) but visits to the school are welcome at any time. Appointments should be made through the school office.
In July there is an Information Meeting for parents of pupils due to start the following September.
The arrangements for the admissions of children to this school at age 4+ are made by the County Council. Please follow the link below for further information.
